Abstract

Family is one of the main pillars of society. Achieving a healthy society depends on the health of the family, and the realization of this is conditional on its people having mental health and good relationships with each other. Therefore, the health of family members and the relationship between them undoubtedly has positive effects on the society (Bernstein and Bernstein, 1994; translated by Pourabdi Nayini and Menshi, 2018). Bass (2000); According to Sheikhzadeh Golanji (2009), in a research, he has shown that there is a close relationship between happiness and resilience. People who have high resilience easily have the ability to react quickly in destructive situations and also adapt to good and bad situations easily, and this makes them enjoy better mental health and quality of life. And also their level of happiness is higher. Libomirski et al. (2005), believe that in general, happy people respond to situations and events in a more positive and adaptive way and have a lower stress level and a stronger and more creative immune system. are unhappy people. Happiness is also important because of its effects in the family. Happiness is contagious, that is, a person's happiness can create happiness in others and expand the person's relationship with the environment and make life enjoyable (Abadi, 1383 quoted by Kajbaf, 1390).

The aim of the present study was to determine the relationship between happiness and resilience with family functioning. The sample studied in this research was 324 women who were selected from among the married female employees working in the University of Medical Sciences using the relative class method. The tools used in this research included the following questionnaires: Oxford happiness, Connor and Davidson resilience scale and family functioning questionnaire. Validity and reliability of the mentioned questionnaires were evaluated favorably. In order to investigate the research questions, statistical analysis methods such as mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, regression analysis were analyzed based on spss19 software. The results of the research showed that both variables of happiness and resilience can significantly predict family performance. But in this analysis, resilience variable has more power to explain changes in family performance. The significance level in this research is p>0.05.
